This is a tightly written, sharp book that focuses on the heart of trauma and how it manifests throughout so many aspects of a person’s life. Angelina is a character in a pain so real it sometimes hurts to read it. Complicated like so many of us humans out here, loved her and rooted for her even when her choices made me cringe. Diving deep into the layered complexity of family and the love we feel, celebrate, endure for them, this is a compelling story.
